Seneca Reflections
Oil on canvas, 10 X 20, private collection
"When I was growing up, our school bus crossed
over the Seneca River at Belgium, NY. In this
painting, I explore my lifelong fascination with the
river’s mystery and allure."

"I was struck by the  bold advertising and stepped
gabled roof of this early 19th century building in
Oswego, NY."

The Artist's Backstory with Linda Wesner:  A Video Series
I am intrigued by the slow, subtle impact of nature on the
landscape.  I also feel an urgency to capture images that are
rapidly disappearing to suburban development. In my colored pencil
drawings, I work slowly, building detailed layers of soft, glowing
color for a highly rendered work. In my bolder oil paintings, I work
quickly, brushing paint spontaneously for a looser effect.  I invite
the viewer to contemplate my impressions of forgotten paths, old
agricultural and commercial buildings, and sunlit natural forms.
Signs of August: 20 x 30, colored pencil on paper. A sea of corn
stretches to the horizon on either side of the road; to the right a
long narrow road leads to an isolated farmhouse. (Rt 36/37, east
of Delaware).
Just down the road new commercial centers are
being completed.
